> Li Siyi of Xiangzhou died in the fifth month of the third year of the Yonghui era. After one night he revived. He recounted: "Because my allotted lifespan had not yet ended and I was not due to die, I was granted release by the King to return. Before the King, I saw the monk Bianqui of Faguan Monastery in Fuyang County, Xiangzhou, and also saw Hongliang and Huibao of Huifu Monastery. All three were before the King presenting their defence. The underworld official said: 'The time for Huibao's death has not yet arrived; he should be released to return and cultivate merit. Bianqui and Hongliang will surely die this year.' Later, it indeed turned out as he had said. The monastery monks had a spirit medium go to the rooms of Hongliang and the others to summon the two monks and question them. Bianqui arrived and said: 'Because I broke the fast, I am now enduring great torment. Tell the disciples to make a vegetarian feast on my behalf to deliver me from this suffering!' The disciples immediately held a feast for him. The medium then reported: 'He has already obtained remission from his sin.' Hongliang arrived and said: 'Because I broke the fast and additionally spoke of people's strengths and weaknesses, virtues and faults, my tongue is now being pulled out in agonizing pain; I cannot say more.'"
