# 弘明集 7.11

弘明集 7.11

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [7.11](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2102.7.11)

論云。既不全同又不全異。下棄妻拏上廢宗祀。疑曰。若夫廢祀於上。不能絕棄於下。此自擬異入同。非同者之過也。寧可見犁牛不。登宗廟之用而。永棄於牢餼之具耶。

> The treatise says: "\[The Buddhists\] are neither entirely the same nor entirely different: below, they abandon wives and children; above, they discard the ancestral sacrifices." The objection says: As for discarding sacrifices above and failing to abandon \[attachments\] below, this is assimilating difference into sameness on one's own part; it is not the fault of what is the same. Could one, seeing that a brindled ox is not fit for the ancestral temple, forever cast it aside from being an animal for the sacrificial pen?
