> The 'Treatise on the Three Destructions' says: 'If it is said that the Crown Prince is the lord of the teaching, the lord did not cut his hair yet makes people shave their heads; the lord did not abandon his wife yet makes people sever their lineage. This is truly laughable! It is clearly known that Buddhism is a technique for eradicating evil. We have humbly heard that the virtue of the noble person begins with filial piety: "The body, hair, and skin are received from parents; one dares not damage them."'
