> On the eighth day of the sixth month of the second year of Renshou, the monks and envoys who had delivered relics to the various prefectures returned to the palace. Having received the imperial decree of condolence and reward, they were ordered to proceed on the ninth day to Cishan Temple for a vegetarian feast celebrating the light. When the monastic assembly arrived at the temple, they chanted praises, circumambulated, and offered incense. As they were about to eat, fine precipitation fell from the sky, again raining silver flakes and heavenly flowers. The Chamberlain Cui Junde ordered them to be collected and presented to the throne. Shengguang Temple in the capital made a replica of the stone reliquary from Shan Prefecture, depicting the auspicious manifestations, twin śāla trees, and other forms. From the twenty-third day of the fifth month of the second year of Renshou onward, light was emitted at the temple day after day in unbroken succession; whenever conditions resonated, it arose without ceasing day or night. Monastics and laypeople from the city and from afar came to look, taking refuge and paying homage, congesting the gates and blocking the roads, coming and going as in a bustling marketplace. Those who encountered this light had their hearts stirred, giving rise to weeping, joy, and aspiration. When various temples in the city and various outer counties and prefectures made copies on plain silk and took them away, some emitted light upon their carriages, some shone along the road, and some grew bright and distinct upon reaching their destination, each light having distinct colours according to what was seen.
