> \[Fu\] Yi says: 'The barbarians of the Western Regions, born of foul mud, readily serve mud and tiles. Even today they are hairy and rank, with human faces and animal hearts. Those owl-like men of the Dao, with their four colors of donkeys and mules, are an evil seed of greed and rebellion. The Buddha was born in the western regions; this is not the proper custom of China, but the heterodox qi of monstrous specters.'
