> The Avadāna-sūtra states: 'The Heavenly Lord Śakra ordered the Four Heavenly Kings to inspect the world on the six fasting days, spying out and seeking the good and evil deeds committed among mortals. Seeing a great king governing and transforming the realm through the ten good deeds and the four immeasurables, the Heavenly Lord was delighted. He immediately bestowed upon the human king a gold wheel with a thousand spokes, carved and engraved, inset with myriad jewels, its light shining through and surpassing the luminescence of the sun and moon—altogether four wheel-treasures of gold, silver, copper, and iron, descending of their own accord from the sky. Eight hu of bright pearls, radiant as the sun, could dispel heat inside the royal palace. Furthermore, there was a woman-treasure descending from the sky, pure flesh without bone, completely fulfilling feminine grace: her abdomen was rounded without protruding, her ears soft and drooping, her demeanor relaxed and beautiful, with sixty-four transformations, her fine hairs blue-black and delicate, her lustrous hair unruffled, able to perceive the king's mind and make offerings at the proper time. Extraordinary seven treasures gushed forth from the water, eighty thousand treasured horses, and white elephants with six tusks. The Four Great Heavenly Kings held seven-jewel vases and sprinkled fragrant water upon his head, holding a heavenly jewel crown to place upon the king. Whenever the king traveled, the seven treasures led the way before him and the fourfold army followed behind,' and so on.
