> The non-Buddhist treatise says: Between the Florescent and the barbarian, etiquette creates a barrier; high and low are made clear in canonical documents. The peripheral and the correct diverge in their paths; victory and defeat are preserved in the historical annals. The rulers of the Rong and Di are not permitted to usurp the title of King; the lords of Chu and Yue thus voluntarily demoted themselves to Viscounts. How could a petty peddler \[like the Buddha\] match the Great Master of our Heavenly King? This is the fourth difference between the Florescent and barbarian.
