- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.16](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2118.1.16)

> The tone of pipes and flutes has no wish to delight the human heart, yet the heart is naturally delighted. (The Yuepu says: Pipes belong to the class of flutes and pipes. Flutes \[yue\] resemble flutes, having three holes, and are short and small. The sounds of these pipes and flutes have no need to bring joy to the human heart, but when people hear them, they are naturally joyful.)
