- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.171](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2118.2.171)

> Therefore, what one's parents love, one also loves; what one's parents respect, one also respects. This extends even to dogs and horses, and how much more so to people! (The Book of Rites says: toward what parents love, even dogs and horses one does not dare hold in low regard, how much more so the people loved by one's parents!).
