> The above memorial is presented by the Tripiṭaka Śramaṇa Amoghavajra of Xingshan Temple: I humbly submit that the Tathāgata's wondrous purport bestows compassion upon living beings, and the precious Benevolent Kings Sūtra exalts the principle of protecting the realm. The translations of previous dynasties have not fully harmonized its principles, and refining its subtle words belongs rightfully to the enlightened sage. I humbly reflect that Your Majesty, the Baoying Yuansheng Wenwu Emperor, with sagacious elegance opens the fortune of the times, and with enlightened wisdom seizes the moment. You broadly propagate the true mantras and proclaim the teachings of the images. The imperial prestige resonates afar, and the sun of the Buddha shines anew. For the sake of the common people, You constantly cause lectures and recitations to be held. Regarding this Benevolent Kings Sūtra, I hope that the old text may be retranslated based on the Sanskrit manuscripts, so that the words of the palm-leaves may forever be free of omissions, and what was spoken from the Golden Mouth may be even more detailed and clear. I further request that the monks Huaigan, Feixi, Zilin, Jianzong, Guixing, Yisong, Daoye, Liangben, Qianzhen, Huiling, Fachong, Chaowu, Huijing, Yuanji, and Daolin translate it within the Palace Chapel. May these blessings assist the sacred reign, and its grace extend to all living beings, so that bandits and rebellions may be perpetually cleared away and the realm made peaceful and harmonious. Transmitted through vast kalpas, its salvation and protection will be truly profound.
