> In the Latter Wei, there was a monk of Wuhou Temple in Fanyang whose name has been lost. Reciting the Lotus Sūtra was his constant practice. When he first died, he was temporarily encoffined beneath an embankment; later, they moved his burial. His skeleton had completely withered, yet only his tongue was undamaged. In Yongzhou, there was also a monk who recited the Lotus Sūtra; he lived in seclusion on Bailu Mountain, and his practice moved a young boy to serve and supply him. When he died, his corpse was placed beneath a cliff. The rest of his skeleton completely withered, yet only his tongue did not rot.
