> Furthermore, the Saddharmasmṛtyupasthāna Sūtra states: “If someone makes offerings to a Dharma master who preaches the Dharma, you should know that this person is making offerings to the present World-Honoured One. As this person makes offerings in this way, the vows they make will be accomplished, up to attaining anuttarasamyaksaṃbodhi, because they are able to make offerings to the preacher of the Dharma. Why is this? Because by hearing the Dharma, the mind is subdued; because it is subdued, it can sever the darkness of ignorance and saṃsāra. Apart from hearing the Dharma, there is no single phenomenon that can subdue the mind.”
