Five li north of the capital, in a great monastery on the bank of the Gaṅgā River, is a stūpa where the Buddha preached the Dharma for three months for gods and humans. There are traces of the walking and sitting of the four Buddhas. Five li to the west is a hair-and-nail stūpa of the Buddha. Five li southwest of the city, in a great mango grove, is an old monastery; here the Bodhisattva Asaṅga ascended by night to the heavenly palace and received from Maitreya the Yogācārabhūmi, Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkāra, and Madhyāntavibhāga-śāstra, expounding them to the assembly below during the day. More than a hundred paces northwest of the grove is a hair-and-nail stūpa of the Buddha.
