> Further, travelling one hundred and eighty li north from here, one reaches the kingdom of Viśākha, belonging to Central India. South of the royal city is a monastery stūpa more than two hundred feet high, where the Buddha formerly preached the Dharma for six years. Beside it is a miraculous tree seventy feet high that does not change through spring or winter; this grew luxuriantly from the Buddha's discarded tooth-stick (dantakāṣṭha). Various heretical non-Buddhists vied to chop it down, but it immediately grew back as before, and those who harmed it suffered misfortune. Beside it are traces of the walking and sitting of the four Buddhas, along with a hair-and-nail stūpa, their basements and corners contiguous, while forests and ponds cast reflecting shadows.
