> Furthermore, two thousand li south of the kingdom of Khotan, in the kingdom of Juqu, there are three non-learning arhats who entered meditative concentration in the mountains and for countless years have stood out vividly as if alive. On the fifteenth day \[of each month\], monks from outside enter the mountain to shave their beards and hair. Moreover, according to various sūtras and vinayas, the Buddha commanded the great arhat Piṇḍola not to enter extinction, but to transmit the Buddha-Dharma, blessing and benefiting sentient beings across the three continents to deliver them from birth and death. Furthermore, according to the Ru dacheng lun, sixteen non-learning arhats including Piṇḍola and Rāhula, along with ninety-nine billion arhats, all received tallies before the Buddha to preserve the Dharma.
