### [32.33](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2122.32.33)

> During the reign of Emperor Ling of the Han, the mother of the Huang family of Jiangxia was bathing in a basin of water. After remaining prone for a long time without getting up, she transformed into a soft-shelled turtle. A maid ran in terror to report it. By the time the family arrived, the turtle had turned and entered the deep pool. Thereafter, it appeared from time to time. When she had first bathed, she had worn a silver hairpin, which was still on its head. Thereupon, for successive generations, the Huang family did not dare to eat turtle meat.
