> In the first year of the Huanglong era of Emperor Xuan of the Han, in the Luling stables of the Weiyang Palace, a hen transformed into a rooster; its plumage also changed, but it did not crow, did not lead \[the flock\], and had no spurs. In the Chuyuan era of Emperor Yuan, in the household of a clerk in the Chancellor's office, a hen transformed into a rooster, complete with comb and spurs, and it began to crow and lead. During the Yongguang era, someone presented a rooster that had grown horns. The Treatise on the Five Phases considered this a portent of the Wang clan.
