> The King of Chu was wandering in his park. A white gibbon was there. The king commanded those skilled in archery to shoot it. Several arrows were loosed, but the gibbon caught the arrows and played with them. He then commanded Youji. As soon as Yang Youji grasped the bow, the gibbon hugged a tree and cried out. Also, during the period of the Six States, Geng Lei said to the King of Wei, "I can loose an empty bowstring and bring down a bird." The King of Wei said, "Can archery truly reach such a degree?" Geng Lei said, "It can." A goose was heard coming from the east; Geng Lei released an empty shot, and the bird fell.
