> Furthermore, through the wisdom born of hearing or through the divine eye, one sees the hair-eating worm: if it becomes enraged, it can devour the beard and eyebrows, causing them all to fall out and inflicting leprosy upon the person. If the hole-coursing worm becomes enraged, it moves through the blood, making the body coarse, rough, numb, and devoid of sensation. If the candamālā worm travels through the blood, whether in the nose or in the mouth, it makes both the mouth and nose foul-smelling and loathsome. If the red worm becomes enraged and moves through the blood, it can cause ulcers to break out in the person's throat. If the sap-eating worm becomes enraged and moves through the blood, it makes the person's body develop blue emaciation, or black or yellow emaciation diseases. If the hair-lamp worm becomes enraged and travels through the blood, it gives rise to painful ailments: sores, ringworm, hot-jaundice, scabies, leprosy, and cracking. If the blood-enraging worm travels through the blood due to anger, it produces either red dysentery, or uterine bleeding in women, with bodily itching, scabies sores, and festering pus. If the blood-eating worm grows angry, it produces distressful illnesses: dizziness and vertigo, sores arising in the throat and mouth, and sores arising at the lower orifice. If the throbbing worm travels through the blood, it gives rise to severe sickness: extreme emaciation, exhaustion, and loss of desire for food and drink. If the sour worm becomes enraged, it likewise causes the person to contract such diseases.
