> Furthermore, the practitioner observes the body internally. Through the wisdom born of hearing or through the divine eye, one sees ten kinds of worms moving in the marrow, with some moving in the semen. What are the ten? First is the hair worm; second, the black-mouthed worm; third, the powerless worm; fourth, the great-pain worm; fifth, the vexation worm; sixth, the fire worm; seventh, the slippery worm; eighth, the downward-flowing worm; ninth, the sex-organ-rousing worm; tenth, the memory-rejoicing worm. If these ten worms are provoked contrary to their nature, they also harm the human body, as expounded at length in the sūtras and cannot be described in full.
