> Seventh, there are also sentient beings whose hundred joints and bones are constantly driven with burning red-hot iron nails by hell-wardens. Once the nailing is finished, fire spontaneously ignites, burning their bodies until all are scorched and putrefied. What transgression caused this? The Buddha said: In their past lives, as acupuncture and moxibustion physicians, they pierced people's bodies but could not cure their diseases, deceiving others to take their wealth and causing them to suffer pain in vain, bringing them suffering and distress. Therefore, they incurred this retribution.
