> In Qin, Li Xian of Gaoping had a slave who was physically robust. When he reached Shitougang, he suddenly saw a man who said, 'My wife had an illicit affair with another man, and I was consequently killed by him. I wish to take revenge; could you assist me?' The slave followed his words. In the end, he saw the man coming. The ghost then seized \[the man's\] head, and the slave called out and lent a hand; \[the man\] immediately fell to the ground. On his way back halfway, he died. The ghost gave the slave one thousand cash and one bolt of dark-blue mixed-weave robe, admonishing him, 'This robe was pledged by Ding from the west gate of the market. You may wear it yourself, but take care not to sell it.'
