> As the Arthapada Sūtra spoken by the Buddha states: The Buddha told a brahmacārin: "There are five things in the world that cannot be avoided, nor can anyone escape them. What are the five? First, the state of inevitably being depleted; second, the state of inevitably being discarded and lost; third, the state of inevitably becoming sick and emaciated; fourth, the state of inevitably decaying through old age; fifth, the state of inevitably dying. Wishing these five states not to bring depletion is impossible to attain."
