> In the sixth month of the first year of the Yuanshi era of the Han dynasty, a woman in Chang'an gave birth to a child with two heads on separate necks, facing each other, four arms sharing a single chest and all facing forward, and an eye two inches long above its buttocks. Thus the Yi Zhuan by Jing Fang states: 'In the hexagram Kui \[which mentions\], "Seeing a pig covered in mud," the anomaly is a person born with two heads and two necks not united as one. Having extra feet indicates staying in what is deviant. Having fewer feet indicates being incapable of bearing responsibilities. Lower body parts growing above indicates irreverence. Upper body parts growing below indicates profanation and dissipation. Giving birth to what is not of one's kind indicates licentious chaos. Being large at birth indicates rushing to completion. Being able to speak at birth indicates a fondness for falsehood.'
