> If a disciple of the Buddha slanders the Three Jewels oneself, encourages someone to slander the Three Jewels; through the causes of slander, the karma of slander, the methods of slander, or the conditions of slander. When a bodhisattva sees a non-Buddhist or an evil person speak a single word slandering the Buddha, the sound is like three hundred spears piercing the heart; how much more so if one slanders with one's own mouth, not generating faith or a filial and obedient mind, but on the contrary assisting evil people and people of wrong views to slander! This is the bodhisattva's tenth pārājika offense.
