### [10.109](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2123.10.109)

> Furthermore, the Mahāyānasaṃgraha states: By contemplating five meanings, one eliminates anger. First, contemplate all sentient beings, \[recognizing that\] none have not shown me kindness. Second, contemplate that all sentient beings merely arise and perish thought-moment by thought-moment; what person can harm, and what person is harmed? Third, contemplate that there is only phenomena and no sentient beings; what can harm, and what is harmed? Fourth, contemplate that all sentient beings naturally experience suffering themselves; how could one wish to inflict further suffering upon them? Fifth, contemplate that all sentient beings are my children; how could one wish to bring harm to them? By these five contemplations, one can extinguish anger.
