> Furthermore, the Dharmaguptaka-vinaya states: At that time, the group of six monks chanted the non-Buddhists' incantations for amulets and texts concerning the auspiciousness and inauspiciousness of situating houses, spells for limbs and joints, spells of the kṣatriyas, spells for knowing people's life, death, good fortune, and misfortune, and spells for understanding various sounds. The Buddha said, 'You should not do so.' They taught them to others so that those others might make a livelihood from them. The Buddha said, 'None of this should be done.'
