> Furthermore, by the wisdom acquired from hearing, or with the divine eye, one sees the flavour-loathing worm dwelling below the head at the root of the throat. How does this worm cause me distress and affliction, or else bring about ease? One sees that this worm loathes various flavours and craves only a single flavour: it may crave sweet flavours and loathe other flavours, or crave sour flavours and loathe other flavours. Whatever flavour it loathes, I too loathe it; whatever the worm craves, I too crave it. There is a vessel at the tip of the tongue that conforms to flavours and makes the tongue dry. Due to the worm's anger, it makes the tongue prickle with heaviness, or causes the throat to contract slight ailments. If it does not get angry, the throat is free from the aforementioned ailments.
