- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [20.47](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2123.20.47)

如楞伽經云。佛言。大慧。如是一切葱韮蒜。臭穢不淨。能障聖道。亦障世間人天淨處。何況諸佛淨土果報。酒亦如是。

> As the Laṅkāvatāra-sūtra states: “The Buddha said: ‘Mahāmati, all such scallions, leeks, and garlic are foul, filthy, and impure; they can obstruct the noble path and can also obstruct the pure realms of humans and devas in the world, not to mention the karmic reward of the pure lands of all Buddhas. Liquor is also like this.’”
