> The Kuśalamūlasaṃparigraha-sūtra also states: "The Buddha told Śāriputra: 'A bodhisattva has four practices through which they will never regress from anuttarasamyaksaṃbodhi. What are the four? First, if they see stūpas and shrines ruined, they should repair and restore them, even if with a clod of earth, mud, or a single brick. Second, if at crossroads and public places where many gather to view, they erect stūpas and make images, creating wholesome causes of merit for buddhānusmṛti, painting within the stūpas depictions of the turning of the wheel of Dharma, the appearance of renouncing household life, and even entering nirvāṇa between the twin trees. Third, if they see the bhikṣu saṃgha divided into two factions quarreling, they diligently seek skillful means to bring about harmony. Fourth, if they see the Buddha's Dharma about to perish, they are able to read, recite, and explain even a single verse so that the Dharma does not end; for the sake of protecting the Dharma, they revere and make offerings to Dharma masters, single-mindedly protecting the Dharma without sparing body or life. If a bodhisattva accomplishes these four practices, from life to life they will become a wheel-turning sage king, possessing great bodily strength like Nārāyaṇa; abandoning the four continents to practice pravrajyā, they will be able to cultivate the four brahmacaryas at will; upon the end of life, they will be born in heaven as a great Brahmā king, ultimately attaining the unsurpassed Way. Therefore, a wise person who wishes to seek the Buddha Way should train in this manner.'"
