> Gathered peaks (欑峰: \[first character pronounced\] zāng-luán fan \[cuán\]. The Liji says: "To pile up grain." The Boya says: "Cuánwán (five-guān fan): the towering appearance of mountains." The Kaosheng says: "A cluster of small mountains; clustered trees." The Shuowen says: "It takes mù \[wood\] as radical and zàn as phonetic." It is also written with shān \[mountain\] as 巑. The lower character is pronounced fāng-fēng fan \[fēng\]: "A mountain that is high and pointed is called a fēng." It takes shān \[mountain\] as radical and fēng as phonetic. In the sūtra it is written with jīn \[metal\] as 鋒, which is also acceptable).
