(Camel: the first character has both fanqie 郎各 \[luò\] and 湯洛 \[tuò\]; both are acceptable. Dictionaries write it 𩧐; the sūtra text writes it 馲, which is incorrect. The second character has the fanqie 達河 \[tuó\]; it is also written \[駝-匕+止\], or popularly written 駞. The Kaosheng says: “The name of a northern barbarian beast.” Guo Pu’s commentary on the Shanhaijing says: “The camel has fleshy humps on its back, can carry a thousand catties, travels three hundred li a day, and can detect where water springs are.” Both are phono-semantic characters.)
