> Embellished with wondrous flowers (The character 填 should properly be written as 瑱, with the fanqie 唐見 \[diàn\], or the two fanqie 陟隣 \[zhēn\]. The Hanshu xunzuan says: '瑱 refers to pearls and jade pressing down a seat to serve as ornament.' The Rites of Zhou has the 'tamping jade scepter' \[瑱圭\], one foot and one inch long, variegated and adorned with jade. Now, the sūtra editions written with the earth radical 土, read with the fanqie 唐賢 \[tián\], are actually the character 填 for filling up or blocking).
