> The secret within the jewel casket (The jewel refers to the wish-fulfilling jewel; this is a metaphor for \*prajñā\*. The casket refers to a box; this is a metaphor for the Buddha's body. It means that \*prajñā\* within the Buddha's body is like a wish-fulfilling jewel in a casket. "Secret" refers to the profound mystery, which is \*prajñā\* itself. Thus the sixty-fourth fascicle of the \*Dazhidulun\* states: "\*Prajñā\* is the wish-fulfilling jewel, while the Buddha's relics are the casket. Although there is no \*prajñā\* within the relics themselves, because they are perfumed and brought to completion by \*prajñā\*, they receive offerings." The character 祕 is sometimes written with the grain radical \[秘\], pronounced 滿結, which refers to a fragrant herb).
