> Vairocana (According to the Sanskrit text, the character \*vi\* \[毘\] should be pronounced 無廢, translating here as 'manifold'. \*Vairocana\* means 'illuminating with radiance', meaning that the Buddha with his body and wisdom illuminates sentient beings with manifold radiances. Or it is said: \*vi\* means 'all-pervading', and \*rocana\* means 'illuminating', meaning that the Buddha with the unhindered radiance of his body and wisdom universally illuminates the Dharma realm of unobstructed principle and phenomena).
