### [37.25](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2128.37.25)

螻蟻（上勒侯反下宜紀反尒雅大者蚍蜉小者螘子也說文從豈作螘經從義俗字也俗呼總名螻一云大曰螻小曰螘也）。

> Mole crickets and ants (螻蟻) (The upper character is le + hou fan; the lower character is yi + ji fan. The Erya states: "The large ones are pifou \[carpenter ants\]; the small ones are ant eggs \[or worker ants\]." The Shuowen states: "Composed with 豈 as 螘." In the scripture it is written with 義, which is a vulgar character. In colloquial usage they are collectively called lou; another view holds that large ones are called lou and small ones are called yi).
