沈溺（上池林反毛詩沈沒也說文渴也從冘冘音淫下寧歷反說文從人從水作休人沒水也從水弱聲）。

> Sinking and drowning (沈溺: the first character is pronounced \[池 + 林\] c-hén \[chén\]. The Mao Poetry says: "沈 (chen) means submerged." The Shuowen says: "Thirsty. It derives from 冘." 冘 is pronounced 淫 \[yín\]. The second character is pronounced \[寧 + 歷\] n-ì \[nì\]. The Shuowen derives it from 人 and 水, written 休, meaning a person submerged in water; it derives from 水 with 弱 as phonetic).
