呪詛（上州救反正作詶字今以為詶答字音受由反俗行用不可改正也下側助反鄭註周禮云詛謂祝之使敗也欲相共惡之也考聲云詛咒罵也說文從言且聲亦作詛或作\[詛/木\]又作譃經文作咀非也且音即余反）。

> Curse and imprecate (呪: upper syllable \*tś-\*, \*tśyəu\* + \*kieu\* fanqie; properly written as 詶, which is nowadays taken as the character for replying and responding, pronounced \*ś-\*, \*źyəu\* + \*jiəu\* fanqie; popular usage cannot be altered. 詛: lower syllable \*tṣ-\*, \*tṣək\* + \*tṣio\* fanqie. Zheng's commentary on the Rites of Zhou says: 'Imprecation (\*zu\*) means invoking curses on someone to bring about their ruin; wishing to mutually inflict evil.' The Kaosheng says: '詛 means to curse and revile.' The Shuowen says: 'Takes the speech radical and \*qie\* phonetic; also written as 詛, or as \[詛/木\], and also as 譃.' In the sūtra text written as 咀, which is incorrect; 且 is pronounced \*ts-\*, \*tsiək\* + \*jü\* fanqie).
