> Bhūmi of the master \[ācāryabhūmi\] (A "master" refers to a practitioner of the three vehicles who, having heard these \[teachings\], gradually practices and cultivates this yoga, fulfilling their portion, and turns to discipline and convert all sentient beings; hence they are called "yoga masters." A "master" is a title for one who teaches people the Path. In the older scriptures, what was called a "practitioner of contemplation" is this. "Bhūmi" means the sphere, the basis, the activity, or what is encompassed; because it is the sphere traversed by the yoga masters, it is called a "bhūmi." The bhūmis are precisely the seventeen bhūmis).
