The Kaosheng says: '寐 means to sleep; to rest.' Gu Yewang says: '寐 means deep sleep.' The Shuowen says: 'It means to recline. It derives from 宀 (pronounced like 綿) and an abbreviated 㝱, with 未 providing the phonetic.'
