> Stomach and gallbladder (𦞅膽): the first character is \[pronounced with the fanqie\] 為 + 貴. The Baihu tong says: 'The stomach is the receptacle of the spleen; it governs the receiving of qi; the stomach is the repository for grains.' The Shuowen says: 'The receptacle of grains; it takes the radical 肉 (flesh) with 𱕻 as a pictograph.' The second character is \[pronounced with the fanqie\] 擔 + 覽. The Baihu tong says: 'The gallbladder is the receptacle connected to the liver; it rules benevolence (rén); when one who is benevolent cannot bear \[cruelty\], they use the gallbladder to cut it off and stop it, which is why one who is benevolent necessarily has courage.' The Shuowen says: 'It takes the radical 肉 (flesh) and 詹 is phonetic.' In the treatise it is written as 𦝩, which is a vulgar character.
