鍼風（上章任反俗用從十作針或從竹作箴說文綴衣之具也三體並形聲字也聲類針刺也經云針風者人欲𣦸時變生一風行於體中如針刺身受諸痛苦也）。

> Needle-pricking wind \[鍼風\] (the first character is pronounced \*zhang\* + \*ren\* \[zhēn\]. In popular usage it is written with "ten" \[十\] as 針, or with "bamboo" \[竹\] as 箴. The \*Shuowen\* states: 'An implement for mending clothes.' All three forms are phono-semantic characters. The \*Shenglei\* states: 'Needling and pricking.' When the sūtra refers to 'needle-pricking wind,' it means that when a person is about to die, a transformed internal wind arises and moves through the body, feeling like needles pricking the flesh, causing severe pain and suffering).
