> 梗槩 ("General outline"): The first character is pronounced with the fanqie 羹 + 杏 (gěng). The Erya states: 'Gěng is like upright.' The Guangya states: 'Gěng means a general outline.' The Gujin zhengzi states that it takes the radical 木 (wood) with 更 as the phonetic. The second character is pronounced with the fanqie 陔 + 愛 (gài). Ban Gu's Rhapsody on the Eastern Capital states: 'I shall roughly speak of its general outline for the guest.' Xue Zong's commentary says: 'Not minute and dense.' It also takes the radical 木 (wood) with 既 as the phonetic.
