> Untiring (pronounced like 戒; pronouncing it like 嫁 is incorrect. This refers to the elder merchants Trapuṣa and Bhallika offering roasted flour and honey to the Buddha. The Buddha bestowed his hair and nail-clippings, instructing them to build a stūpa for worship. When they asked how to construct it, the Tathāgata folded his threefold robes into a foundation, inverted his almsbowl over the robes as the stūpa body, and erected his khakkhara staff beside it as the wheel-rings. The two elders took the hair and nails back to their home city and each erected a stūpa, which can still be seen today. This was where the Buddha first ordered the building of stūpas, right in the territory of the Kingdom of Balkh).
