蟒身（莫牓反爾雅云蟒王虵郭注云虵之大者也古今正字從虫莾聲論從奔作𧎔俗字也虫音毀莾音同上南昌謂犬善逐兔草中故莾字從犬也）。

> Body of a python 蟒身 (pronounced with the fanqie 莫 + 牓; the Erya says: "A mang is the king of serpents." Guo \[Pu's\] commentary says: "The largest of serpents." The Gujin zhengzi states that it takes the insect radical 虫 and the phonetic 莾. In the Treatise it is written with 奔 as 𧎔, which is a vulgar character; 虫 is pronounced 毀, and 莾 has the same pronunciation as given above. In Nanchang it was said that hounds are good at chasing hares in the grass, hence the character mang 莾 contains dog 犬).
