Leather short-sleeved jacket: pronounced with the fanqie 狗 + 侯. The Shiming says: 'A 㡚 (gòu) is an unlined garment without extra underarm cloth.' Dictionaries state: 'An upper garment.' Considering this, a leather gou is the leather garment worn by the Rong and Lu barbarians. The Gujin zhengzi states it takes the cloth radical (巾) and 冓 for phonetic; it is also written with the clothing radical (衣) as 褠, where 冓 has the same pronunciation as above.
