> "Petty and constrained" (偓齪): The first character \[偓 has the fanqie\] yu + jiao (wo); the second character \[齪 has the fanqie\] chuang + zhuo (chuo). Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci says: 'Wo-chuo describes being constrained and foolish.' The Kaosheng says: 'It describes a cramped and petty appearance.' The Gujin zhengzi states: '偓 has the person radical (人) and wu (屋) phonetic.' The Kaosheng notes it is sometimes written as 䠎. The compiled text writes the character with the tooth radical (齒) as 齷; character dictionaries do not have this character. The Wenzidian shuo states: '齪 describes a hurried and constrained appearance; it has the tooth radical (齒) and zu (足) phonetic.' It is also written as 齪.
