> Bhagavat 薄伽梵 (The upper character is the fanqie bang + ge; in Sanskrit, sometimes called Pogapuo, or Bogaban; the correct form is Bhagavān. The syllable po is the fanqie pu + he; fan is the fanqie wang + fan. The translation monk Huilin says: 'The ancient translation is World-Honoured One, meaning that both the worldly and world-transcending realms revere Him. It is also the tenth epithet among the ten epithets \[of a Buddha\].' The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa states: 'The revered titles of the Tathāgata are immeasurable; briefly stated, there are six: sovereign autonomy, blazing splendour, graceful majesty, fame, auspiciousness, and supreme nobility.' The term Bhagavat encompasses these six meanings, so translators retain the Sanskrit term.).
