(The middle character is the fanqie li + gu; also called Jialouluo or Jielucha; the correct form is Garuḍa. This translates as 'wondrous wings', also 'golden wings', or 'the dragon's enemy'. Examining the Qishi jing: the golden-winged bird and the dragon each possess four modes of birth. An egg-born golden-winged bird feeds only on egg-born dragons because its strength is small, up to an apparitionally born golden-winged bird which feeds on dragons of all four modes of birth because its majestic strength is great; the other two modes of birth may be inferred accordingly.).
