> Antelope shanks (鹿腨: the first character has the fanqie 來 + 谷; Qieyun says, “A kind of beast.” The second character has the fanqie 遄 + 耎; Wenzi jilüe says, “The calf of the leg.” Shuowen says, “The belly of the leg and foot.” It is also written \[跳-兆+專\] or 踹; both are equivalent. Here it takes 肉 with 遄 abbreviated for phonetic; 遄 is pronounced 船. To examine: ‘antelope shanks’ refers to the eneya deer king, whose bodily hair is of diverse colors, bright, lustrous, and radiant, with shanks and knees that are straight and slender; thus it is cited as an analogy).
